It is best practice and a Building Regulation that roof space is well ventilated to protect against rot. Ventilation at the eaves is recommended and this can be done with over fascia vents or these ventilated PVC-u foam board fitted to the underside of a soffit.

Fire Rating Foam profiles: Tested to BS476 Part 7:1997 Class 1 surface spread of fire. Woodgrain profiles do not carry a fire rating.
Rigid profiles: Tested to BS476 Part7:1997 Class 1 surface spread of fire.
Thermal Conductivity Foam profiles: 0.07 (w/mk) - this low coefficient of thermal conductivity indicates thermal insulation properties better than brick, concrete or timber.
Rigid profiles: 0.14 (w/mk).
Density Foam profiles: 0.55 - 0.6 g/cm3

Guarantee Profiles are guaranteed against discolouration, warping and cracking, providing they are fitted to manufacturers recommendations. Standard profiles are covered for 20 years, foiled woodgrain profiles for 10 years.
Applications Fitting to underside of roof soffit.

Fitting and Usage

When being used as soffit board, the outside edge slots into a recess along the inner corner of the fascia, while the inside edge either rests on the outer brickwork, slots into a uPVC channel (25mm Board Clip) screwed to the wall, or is screwed to underside of battent along the wall.

When abutting boards, you can do this using a Panel Joint or 10mm Soffit Ventilator.
